Super Junior’s Sungmin, Eunhyuk, and JYJ’s Junsu almost debuted as a three-member group?

On the May 18th broadcast of tvN‘s ‘Taxi‘, Super Junior‘s Sungmin, GirlsGeneration‘s Jessica, and f(x)‘s Luna spoke about their trainee days at SM Entertainment.

Sungmin revealed a surprising detail about previous plans made by the agency. He stated, “In the past, Eunhyuk, Junsu, and I almost debuted as a three-member group.”

He further went on to explain, “Before Super Junior debuted, there was a plan for Eunhyuk, Junsu, and I to debut as a three-member group. However, in the midst of it all, Junsu was selected as a member of TVXQ, so it didn’t happen. At the time, I felt my dreams were crushed in a matter of seconds, and I quit training and rested for one year. I was 19 years old then, my young heart suffered a huge loss.”

Jessica, who also went through a difficult period before debuting with Girls’ Generation, added, “After spending seven years as a trainee, I fell into a slump when people asked me ‘when are you going to debut?‘”
